“NIPUN” means ‘National Initiative for Excellence in Reading with Numeracy’.

The “NIPUN BHART MISSION” was launched on July 5, 2021, by India’s former Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, for the successful implementation of the New Education Policy 2020. “NIPUN” means ‘National Initiative for Excellence in Reading with Numeracy’. It is an ambitious scheme of the Indian government aimed at fulfilling the learning needs of children aged 3 to 9 years. Through this initiative, basic literacy and numeracy skills will be imparted to students. By the academic year 2026-27, every child is expected to achieve the ability to read, write, and learn basic numeracy by the end of the third grade. The program will be implemented by the Department of School Education and Literacy. It is noteworthy that this initiative has been launched under the centrally sponsored scheme ‘Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan’. PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya B.E.G. Many activities are regularly organized to make the program successful in which all the students, teachers and parents participate smoothly.
